The best way to learn more about wild turkeys and turkey hunting is to join a local chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation.

The NWTF has chapters throughout the United States and Canada. Each chapter holds at least one "Hunting Heritage Banquet" each year. Click Here to find the location of your closest NWTF banquet.

The National Wild Turkey Federation supports disabled hunters through the Wheelin' Sportsman Program, supports youth outreach through their Jakes & Xtreme Jakes Program, and offers activities designed for women of all ages through their Women In The Outdoors Program.

Ground Blinds: Tent-Style ground blinds are obvious choices for hunting in bad weather, and really handy for taking kids turkey hunting!

Pros: Allows you to stay in the field longer during wet weather, and hides most movements inside the blind.
